1. How far is the Hotel Shamrock from the Bendigo train station?
1.7 kilometres, about a 15 minute walk.
Taxis are readily available from the train station car park, or alternatively you can order a taxi on 131 008.
2. What time is check in and check out time?
Check in is anytime after 2.00pm daily.
Check out is before 10.00am Monday - Saturday and before 11.00am on Sunday.
Early check in and late check out can be arranged prior to your booking.
A late check out fee of $50.00 applies if guests have not pre arranged this with Reception staff.
3. What if I arrive earlier than the standard check in time?
If your room is available we can check you in, if not we can store your bags in a lock up facility for you until your room is ready.
4. Does the Hotel Shamrock have internet access for guests?
Yes, the hotel provides free wireless internet for inhouse guests to use. Access codes can be collected at reception.
5. Is the Hotel Shamrock close to transport?
We are located 1.7 kilometres from the Bendigo train station and one block away from the closest bus stop.
Nearby is also a stop for the Bendigo Talking Tram, or of course the Bendigo taxi service is available 7 days a week.
6. Where do I park ? Is there a parking fee?
Parking is located in the Bendigo City Council's Multi storey carpark in Hargreaves St at the rear of the Hotel Shamrock.
Parking in this carpark is charged at $1.40 per hour or $6.70 per 24 hour period.
Parking in this carpark is free for guests checking out on a Saturday or Sunday.
Alternatively parking is available on the street following parking time zones and costs.
Street parking is free from 5.30pm- 8.30am.
7. Where is the nearest place I could purchase personal supplies?
As we are extremely central, newsagencies, pharmacies, banks, supermarkets, and retail stores are all within walking distance.
8. What is the latest time I can check in?
Reception is open from 7.30am-6.00pm daily.
If you are checking in after reception has closed there will be a phone in the hotel lobby.
Use this phone to contact staff in the Sports Bar area who are able to check you in late at night.
Sports Bar staff are available until 3.00am, but it is always best to email or call the hotel to let Reception staff know if you will be arriving late.
9. Is there an ATM available at the Hotel Shamrock?
Yes, there is a cash out facility over the bar in our Sports Bar.
10. Where can I find out about holding a function at the Hotel Shamrock?
The simpliest way to get an idea of the functions we can hold here and the options you will have is to click on our Functions link and download either our Events, Wedding or Conference packs.
Our packs are filled with all the details and prices you will need.

11. Can I have my birthday party there?
Yes, we can cater for a range of birthday parties.
The only exception being 18th birthday parties, as we do not hold these at the venue.
12. Do you have a pool?
No.The closest pool is located in Barnard St which is a 10 minute walk through Rosalind Park.
13. What age is my child not classed as a child?
At our venue, a child is classified as 12 years and under.
14. How much would it cost for an extra adult to stay?
Accommodation rooms are priced for two adults, any extra adult is $15.00.
This is depending on the bedding arrangements in the room, for instance our Standard Rooms can accommodate no more than two adults.
15. How much would it cost for a child to stay?
Children that are staying with adults accommodation 12 years and under are free of charge.
Children over 12 years of age are classed as an adult and are charged as above.
16. Can I stay at the Hotel Shamrock without a credit card ?
Yes, you can but we highly advise that you bring a credit card otherwise the process of paying for the accommodation with cash or EFTPOS is paying for the room, for the full period of your stay as well as depositing $100, which we will return to you on check out once the room has been checked.
17. What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice for any cancellations. If you cancel your booking within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount of the first night of your stay.
